I am Dr. Zhen Liu [刘震], member of the Institute of Applied Optimization [应用优化研究所] of the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology [计算机科学与技术系] of the Hefei University [合肥学院]. Before joining in this Institute, I was an Assistant Researcher at the Hefei Institute of Physical Science [合肥物质科学研究院] of the Chinese Academy of Science [中国科学院]. I received my doctorate in 2013 at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in Hefei [合肥], Anhui [安徽], China [中国].
My research is focused on systems modeling, error analysis, and systems optimization: If we want to optimize the parameters and behavior of a physical or technical system, such as an optical device or machine, we first need a clear understanding of the system itself. This means that we need a model which can describe the interactions of the system's parameters with its behavior. Based on the model, we can then simulate how the system would behave for a given configuration. Modeling and simulation of a system together allow us to search optimal parameters in a targeted way and to validate our findings. I have applied this approach in fields such as snapshot polarimeter in optics.
