I am Dr. Zhize Wu [吴志泽], researcher at the Institute of Applied Optimization [应用优化研究所] of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data [人工智能与大数据学院] of the Hefei University [合肥学院]. Before joining in this institute, I received my Ph.D. Candidate from the School of Computer Science and Technology (SCST) of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) [中国科学技术大学] in 2017. I am Prof. Dr. Thomas Weise [汤卫思], the director of the Institute of Applied Optimization [应用优化研究所] of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data [人工智能与大数据学院] of the Hefei University [合肥学院]. Before founding this institute, I was a computer scientist at the USTC-Birmingham Joint Research Institute in Intelligent Computation and Its Applications (UBRI) belonging to the School of Computer Science and Technology (SCST) of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) [中国科学技术大学] for seven years. I received my doctorate in 2009 at the Distributed Systems Group of the University of Kassel in Germany.

For more than a decade, I have worked on research in the field of optimization, mainly centered around Evolutionary Computation (EC) but also with various problem-specific local search (LS) methods and hybrid algorithms of EC and LS. My research is centered on the questions: "How can we help partners in the industry and in research to discover and solve their optimization problem, to make them more efficient?" and "How can we find out which optimization algorithm perform well, on which problem, and why (without investing much work)?"

Besides this, I am also the author of the open source bookbuildeR tool chain for automatic building, updating, and publishing of (online) e-books by using free continuous integration services and of the books "An Introduction to Optimization Algorithms" (created and regularly updated with that toolkit) and the (older) book "Global Optimization Algorithms - Theory and Application," which has been cited more than 850 times according to Google Scholar.

I am Dr. Zijun Wu [吴自军], member of the Institute of Applied Optimization [应用优化研究所] of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data [人工智能与大数据学院] of the Hefei University [合肥学院]. Before joining this institute, I was an Assistant Professor at the Beijing Institute for Scientific and Engineering Computing (BISEC) [北京科学与工程计算研究院] of the Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) [北京工业大学] in Beijing [北京], China. I received my Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Clausthal University of Technology (Technische Universität Clausthal) in Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Germany in 2015 and my M.Sc. in Pure Mathematics from the Sichuan University [四川大学], Chengdu, Sichuan [四川], China in 2010.

My research interest is in Traffic Optimization (traffic analysis and congestion pricing), Operations Research (evolutionary algorithms, NP-hard problems, simulation-based optimization), Statistics and Machine Learning (stochastic process, time series forecasting, clustering and neural networks), Mathematics (measure and probability), and Theoretical Computer Science (theory of natural inspired computing).

I am Prof. Dr. Rolf H. Möhring [默里·罗尔夫], a member of the Institute of Applied Optimization [应用优化研究所] of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data [人工智能与大数据学院] of Hefei University [合肥学院] as well as a professor emeritus at the Fachgebiet Kombinatorische Optimierung und Graphenalgorithmen (COGA) of the Institut für Mathematik at the Technische Universität Berlin (TUB) in Berlin, Germany and a member of the Board of Directors of the Beijing Institute for Scientific and Engineering Computing (BISEC) [北京科学与工程计算研究院] of the Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) [北京工业大学] in Beijing [北京], China. I received my Diplom (equivalent to MSc), Dr. rer. nat., and Habilitation in Mathematics at the RWTH Aachen in 1973, 1975, and 1982, respectively. I was assistant and associate professor at the University of Hildesheim and then at the University of Bonn, respectively, before joining the TUB in 1987 as full professor.

I received the Harris German-Dartmouth Distinguished Visiting Professorship of the Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, USA, the Wissenschaftspreis der Gesellschaft für Operations Research (GOR, 2005), the Gold Medal of the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO, 2010), and the Honorary Professor title of the Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) in 2014.

As member of the Editorial Board, I contribute to several journals, namely Discrete Applied Mathematics, the Journal of Scheduling, Management Science, Mathematical Methods of Operations Research (MMOR), Operations Research, ORDER – A Journal on Ordered Sets and its Applications, and the SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics. I organized and co-organized events such as the International Conference on Operations Research (OR'94) and the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM'98), as well as of several workshops and Dagstuhl Seminars. I also was the President of the Gesellschaft für Mathematik, Ökonomie und Operations Research (GMÖOR, 1994–1996), the Chair of the Executive Committee (1992–1995) and the President (2004–2007) of the Mathematical Programming Society (now Mathematical Optimization Society, MOS), and a member of the DFG Research Center Matheon "Mathematics for Key Technologies," where I was in charge of the Application Area "Logistics, Traffic, and Telecommunication Networks".

My research interests include graph and network algorithms, combinatorial optimization, scheduling, operations research, and their industrial applications.
